The rest of the pictures

In the manner of the Cubs vs the White Sox family discussions. Dad has taught M to say Cubbies. How could he be so .....?

D is starting to walk and took many steps tonight. He also said HI for the first time. Everyone got so excited, he decided not to say it anymore. He hides everything he does so it will be awhile before he says it again.

June Catch up

M and D tried watermelon- M liked it right away, D wasn't sure, but kept trying. M had three pieces, and D had two. The watermelon was cold and very sweet, which might have been D's problem.

For their 13 month birthday, they each received a box of animal crackers. Yes, they have had cookies, but a WHOLE box!

M and D spent the night at Grammy's with aunt V. A great time was had. D got himself in his old bouncy chair, my has he grown. Great Grandma came to visit and gave M her dinner. Great Gram brought dinner and boy did M and D enjoy it. Everyone loves gram's mashed potatoes. Aunt V even took them for a walk, they loved being outside.

The next exciting June event was swimming lessons, D was a natural. M was a little nervous waiting, she was playing with her fingers nervously, funny that a little girl would know how to do that already. She was fine once she got going. She also showed signs of things to come, one of the instructors gave her a little extra attention, and when she walked away, M was a little miffed, you could just read her mind, wait come back. It was really cute.
Mom and Dad were excellent coaches, and what a great opportunity to give M and D.

Happpy Birthday Dad

Just a quick note D gave Dad the best birthday present - he took his first steps at 13 months 7 days or 10 months 7 days.

He gave gram a treat too, he said grandma. D doesn't say much, but when he does, it makes me smile.

Will update 13 month pictures and tasting dad's birthday cake on the weekend.

M's vocabulary

M is starting to pick up words quite well. Here are some of the things she is saying.

Daddy
Buddy
Sandy
mm mm mm
wow

and the best of all GRANDMA
Another grandma, told me it will melt your heart
when you hear it for the first time and it did
along with a few tears.

She also is wearing shoes without taking them off.
She puts them on willingly without balling up her feet.
She is just getting to be a big girl.
