Fifteen Weeks Old

Mom insist I blog this happening. I should have let her be a guest blogger, she would make it a much better story.

To set the story we have to go back to day two of M's life, when we all knew she was very interested in what was going on, that she wasn't going to miss a thing. Remember, she was the one who always had the left eye on her glasses pushed up, and was turning her head back to the activity side of her incubator? D took it all in stride and worked on growing up, if it happened, it happened. Well, little miss "don't want to miss anything" was told that grandma was coming to visit on Saturday, only they told her on Friday night, and since time has no meaning to a fifteen week old, she wasn't going to miss me, so sleep became a non issue for her, hence, mom and dad. Dad called to tell me that she was waiting so I of course ran right over and could hear someone crying from lack of sleep from the street.

I picked her up, held her for a few minutes and here is the result.

She slept for over an hour. I'm not sure what mom and dad do to her, she is such a sweet little girl. Okay, only if she is touching you, check out the little finger, making sure I am still there.

Later in the evening, I had her sleeping next to me, and I was getting ready to leave, so I was trying to move away. Every time I moved, she moved her hand to touch me, so I gave up and moved back, but not closed enough. Had I not seen it or been there, I wouldn't believe what I am going to write. She threw her body into a roll and rolled right over next to me, and I mean there was no room. Who did I think I was, trying to get away. M your name is "Hoot".

D just takes all this in all of the time, I think he knows he doesn't stand a chance. He will just sit and watch, they are so different, but I know we couldn't handle two M's. No one would stand a chance. We love her to death but one is all we are strong enough to have at a time, now maybe the next one??? Just joking.

Here is D just taking it all in.

The other excitement of the day, was going for a walk in Gram's new stroller. They weren't too sure at first, then it was fun. I can tell you D doesn't like the bumps, but did enjoy taking it all in. M fell asleep, which we know she needed and allowed D to enjoy the ride.

Here is just another picture showing how big they are.

My caption to this is "See D, I'm not high maintenance ALL of the time, and just remember, I am older than you" Feel free to leave your own in the comments section.

Quick update

M and D went on an outing with Dad to Grandma's work and got to meet all of the people who have held her up and supported her and them during all the good and worrisome times.

No pictures were taken but let me tell you M left her "hoot" impression and D was his normal sweet self.

Everyone enjoyed meeting the joy's of my life and I thank Dad for bringing them out to meet everyone.

Three months or two weeks

Here is a quick update with pictures. M went to Dr. and came back with a good results and the news that she can have cereal at night. M only likes to sleep when she is very close to someone and wakes up every hour and a half to eat. Her first night having cereal she slept three hours, leaving mom and dad thinking they were on vacation. They both continue to have some stomach issues, but all in all we are all very blessed with their health.

I spent Saturday with M and D so mom could have some sleep, and some shopping time. All went pretty, they both actually slept in the bassinets at the same time (this is very unusual) but here is the picture.

M woke up with a scream and a burp, so after I that, she fell asleep in my arms and as soon as I put her back down, she opened one eye to see what was going on and let out her scream again to get picked up, fell asleep, back in the bassinet, scream, grams gives in and lets her sleep on the couch next to me. She actually moved into the crack in the couch and slept like this for two hours.

I usually have things under control, but while mom was out and dad was sleeping before going to work, M and D decided to show me how they treat mom and dad on occasion. Now, I never believed my beautiful perfect grandchildren could behave in such a manner and mom and dad were exaggerating, but they showed me. M woke up and I was starting to feed her, when D decided he was hungry too, and wasn't going to wait for one minute. I thought I was doing okay, when I heard Dad's feet hit the floor, and he came to rescue me or his children, I'm not sure. He was laughing when he asked D if he and M decided to "get" grandma, and D just had the biggest smile, you would think he understood exactly what was asked.

On Sunday, one of Dad's friends stopped by, he too will be a new dad very shortly, so dad let him hold M and D. Here are the witness

protected pictures. M was the first and she was not too cooperative, but by the time he held D he was a pro.

Here are some more pictures from this week.

D and I got to spend some time alone without M, and I got some pictures with his eyes open.

Can't you just see the wheels turning? How am I going to get out of here?

If you put your arms up and make noise, I know she will pick me up, I have her wrapped right around my little finger.

See you next week.

More Pictures

I don't know if you know this, but if you double click on the pictures they will enlarge, then you just hit the back button to go back.

There are pictures in yesterdays post and more here.

This is D in a preemie outfit that was packed in the diaper bag by mistake and yesterday just chillin' in his bouncy chair.

M was showing my her new swing and her pretty face without any tape on it. That all lasted about 2 minutes, she had had enough and was telling me to pick her up.

Three Months today or One Week

It all depends how you look at it, their real birthday or their due date birthday.

M's weening off her oxygen and today she had nothing on her face, and when I told her how pretty she looked without her tube, she started rubbing her face, just like she knew what I was talking about. Oh, of course she did, I'm the grandma and I believe that she did.

M my little hoot, just won't let me walk in without her letting me know she is there and squirming and worming until I pick her up, then she gives you this sly little smile, with the " I got you look". If I'm holding D, it can be quite amusing. I had her in her boppy pillow on the couch next to me, while I was feeding D today, and she just kept squirming and squirming until she touched me with her feet. On another occasion, she just kept kicking me until I picked her up. Today, she was a little kinder, D is having tummy problems, so she let me hold him, without too much drama.

Here are a whole lot of pictures to try and catch up, per all of your requests.
