Week Four - Day Twenty-Two

It does seem hard to believe and yet it seems they have always been here. I was thinking about how scared we were four weeks ago and how blessed we are that all of the terrible things we imagined might have happened haven't. I know they are not out of the woods yet, and our troubles have been little, with each one taking their turn, but I do believe with all of you praying for them, has eased the way. Once again thank you.

It was very nice to spend time with M and D this weekend, after being gone for a few days. It was also the weekend Aunt V came to visit. Mom told them everyday that she was coming and they were waiting with much anticipation (or as much as 21 day old babies can anticipate).

M is having a little difficulty making red blood cells (a preemie thing), the fix is a transfusion, but she can also do it on her own, which we are all hoping for. She is now eating almost as much as D is and is on fortification and some extra calories. M had a long conversation with Aunt V, they just talked and M smiled and laughed, and they enjoyed each other's company.
M also had her first bath, the pictures are being archived for later years, to embarrass her when it really counts.Aunt V and M with her fancy hat on, in honor of her special visitor.M Sleeping like a baby.

D is having a few issues after he eats. He is having a little acid reflux (also a preemie thing), and when it starts, he holds his breath, so it doesn't hurt. He holds his breath so long, his heart slows down, Dad, tells him to breathe and Aunt V, told him not to hold his breathe. We are hoping the medicine starts working real soon. Not, to be outdone, by M, D and Aunt V also had an animated conversation.
