Day Four

D after his first bottle - 4 days old

M and D added to their family today with the addition of 6 aunts, they had cake for the first time grandma and beautiful gifts that will forever be great memories of the beginning of grandmahood. M and D were told all about these wonderful ladies today and of their prayers, love and support for their family. I'm sure they both smiled.

M is still in her sunglasses, her bilirubin is still not where it is supposed to be, so she is still wearing and fighting them them. Hopefully they can be removed soon. She had a busy day with medical procedures, they removed her aorta tube, had a long tube inserted into her arm, for IV purposes, they veins will break and all that good stuff with all of the things that are done to them, so this is done to eliminate some of that trauma. She also got to kangaroo with her mom. This is skin to skin contact on their chest, to help bond, and soothe some of the trauma, we all knew that when she was let out of the incubator to cuddle, she would eat it up, and she did. She didn't move even once. M also received her official nickname today, I'm sure you all know what it is, just call her Drama Queen.

D is once again ahead of his sister, his aorta tube caused complications when they put it in, so they immediately pulled it out all on Saturday, so he didn't have that stress today. He did have the long tube placed in his arm, but of course took it much better than M. He also was able to eat today, and received his first serving of milk. A picture of the bottle taped to his incubator is attached. He is still having his little kidney issue, and when the Dr stopped by he said he wasn't concerned, and might take 10 days to clear, but it is all normal. D also was given his official nickname today, and as you would guess, he is BeachBoy.
